Since most of my professional experience over the past decade has been in the realm of sales and marketing, most of my reflections and advice will center around that sphere. However, one of the ideas that I hold most dear is that sales, influence, leadership and serving others are all just different facets of the same gem. Being able to relate to a difficult boss, coworker, client or family member for that matter are all variations of what I understand as “selling.”
Instead of the art of convincing people to do your bidding, I see selling as the art of leadership or of serving/ influencing/ helping others to achieve their own goals.
